  1. Utkarsh Mastercard Gold Contactless Debit Card is available to eligible Savings and Current account holders.
  1. Customers will be issued Mastercard Gold Contactless Debit Card on their active Savings/Current accounts. Customers may please visit their nearest Utkarsh Small Finance Bank branch or call our Customer Care (1800-123-9878) 24×7 (Except National Holidays)

Customers need to provide the following documents to apply for a Debit Card:

  1. Residential address proof
  2. Date of birth proof
  3. Proof of Age
  4. Two passport size photograph (latest)

Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving Licence,NREGA Card, Voter ID Card will be considered as proof of above.

What is Utkarsh Bank Debit Card?
An Utkarsh Bank Debit Card makes your payments much more convenient and secure through an electronic payment facility directly debiting from your Savings or Current account maintained with the Bank.
How does a Debit Card work?
A Debit Card automatically withdraws funds from a linked Bank account. When you pay with a Debit Card, the money is immediately deducted from your linked account.
What is a Contactless Card?
Contactless Card is a faster way to pay with your Debit Card for purchases upto 5000/- at participating stores. Instead of dipping (or swiping) your Card on the merchant terminal, simply wave or tap your Card on the Contactless enabled terminal and pay without entering a PIN (for amount under 5000/-).
What are the benefits of Contactless Debit Card?
Contactless transaction is secure as the Card is handled and remained to be in the custody of the customers all the time at during making payment at the shops/merchants.It is convenient to pay faster upto 5000/- without dipping or swiping the Card and without entering PIN No.
Is my Utkarsh Bank Contactless Debit Card safe and secure?
Yes, Contactless technology uses secure encryption (the same as CHIP and PIN) so you can confidently use it. The maximum transaction value for a contactless transaction is capped at 5000/- which further limits any possible loss. Furthermore, you continue to be protected through the lost Card liability cover on your Card.Ensure that loss of your Card is reported to Utkarsh Bank immediately on discovering the same.
How do I use my Utkarsh Bank Mastercard Gold Contactless Debit Card for Contactless payments?
  1. Look out for Wi-Fi symbol on the machine at the shop/store/outlet
  2. Tap the Card on the machine or keep it close to the terminal (for transactions upto 5000/-)
  3. You will hear a beep/see a green light and get the receipt for the contactless payment you have done
What if the amount is more than 5000/-? Will I be able to use my Mastercard Gold Contactless Debit Card?
Yes, you will be able to use your Mastercard Gold Contactless Debit Card, however, if the amount is above 5000/- then you will have to use it like a regular Debit Card by either dipping (or swiping) it in the machine and you will be prompt to enter the PIN.
Will I get receipt for all the Contactless transactions?
Please let the shopkeeper know that you need a receipt. However, the receipt is not directly available in some circumstances; for example, while paying for travel by tapping your Card on an electronic ticket reader, or using a Contactless Card at a vending machine. And all contactless purchases are recorded on your statement and you will get to see them on your Utkarsh Bank internet banking account and Utkarsh Bank mobile app as well.
How far from the Contactless machine should I hold the Card?
Contactless Cards and machines do not work beyond a distance of 4 cm. We would suggest that you remove the Card from your wallet/purse/clutch and keep it on the machine.
Can I accidentally be charged for a Contactless transaction just by walking past a Contactless terminal?
No, Your Card has to be tapped within 4 cm of the Card reader for more than half a second and the retailer must have first entered the amount for you to approve. Terminals can only process one payment transaction at a time, thereby reducing transaction errors.
What if the Contactless functionality does not work?
There may be a small chance that the contactless functionality does not work straight away on your new card. Your card needs to be activated before the contactless functionality will work. If you use your card first on a transaction by inserting your Card into a machine then putting a PIN, then contactless should work after this transaction.
Do I get lost Card liability if I lose my Utkarsh Bank Contactless Card?
Yes, Utkarsh Bank Mastercard Contactless Cards provide cover upto 100% of the purchase limit as long as you report the loss of your Card to Utkarsh Bank immediately
How can I apply for an Utkarsh Bank Contactless Debit Card?
You can choose to apply online or visit your nearest Utkarsh Bank branch. Utkarsh Bank Debit Card comes along with the Account Kit which is given to you at the time of account opening or you can apply through other below mentioned channels:

Internet Banking:

  1. Step 1: Login to Utkarsh Bank website www.utkarsh.bank
  2. Step 2: Click on Ways to Bank
  3. Step 3: Select Internet Banking
  4. Step 4: Login to Utkarsh Internet Banking with User Id and password provided by the Bank
  5. Step 5: Click on Cards Tab
  6. Step 6: Select Apply for New Debit Card
  7. Step 7: Select Account Number
  8. Step 8: Enter the name to be embossed on the Card
  9. Step 9: Select Delivery Option
  10. Step 10: Enter OTP sent on your registered Mobile Number

  6. Step 6: Select Delivery Option

What is a CVV number?
The Card Verification Value (CVV) is the last three digit number printed on the signature strip on the back of your Card. It is usually required for online payment transactions.
What is the validity of Utkarsh Bank Debit Card?
The validity of Utkarsh Bank’s Debit Card is 5 years from the date of issue.
I have applied for a Mastercard Gold Contactless Debit Card.When will I receive this Debit Card?
Mastercard Gold Contactless Debit Cards are dispatched on T+3 day basis on receipt of application, where ‘T’ refers to the date of transaction/application. Normally, the courier/post delivers the cards within 10 working days to the customers’ address.
Will I receive the Physical Pin?
Yes, the Physical Pin will be delivered to you separately at your registered mailing address.
What are the ways to reset the Debit Card PIN?
Debit Card PIN can be re-set using ATMs, Internet Banking and Mobile Banking.
Will I get any intimation for my Debit Card Transactions?
Yes. You will receive SMS alerts for all Debit Card transactions on your registered Mobile Number and Email ID registered with the Bank. In case you have not registered, kindly visit your nearest branch or call our customer care to update your details.
What are the Debit Card transaction fees if I swipe my Card at Petrol pumps or Railway stations?
There are no charges for swiping your Card at Petrol pumps or Railway stations.
I have received Utkarsh Bank Debit Card with my Bank Account Kit? Is it ready to use?
Yes, the Card is in inactive state. You need to activate your Card for the first time by using it at any of the ATMs after receiving 4 digit PIN which will be delivered to you at your registered address.
I have not received my Debit Card PIN in the Kit?
Physical PIN is dispatched separately and will be delivered to you at your registered mailing address.
How to change Debit Card PIN?
You can change your Debit Card PIN by:

  2. Step 2: Click on Ways to Bank
  3. Step 3: Select Internet Banking
  4. Step 4: Login to Utkarsh Internet Banking with User Id and password

  9. Step 9: Confirm New Pin
  10. Step 10: Enter OTP sent on your registered Mobile Number

  6. Step 6: Confirm New PIN
  7. Step 7: Enter OTP sent on your registered Mobile Number
  8. Step 8: A confirmation receipt on your screen for successful generation of Debit Card PIN.

ATM:
You can change your Debit Card PIN through ATM in the following ways:

  1. Step 1: Insert your Card
  2. Step 2: Select Language
  3. Step 3: Select Banking Transactions
  4. Step 4: Enter your existing PIN
  5. Step 5: Select PIN Change
  6. Step 6: Enter your new PIN and click on Correct.(That you would like to create)
  7. Step 7: Re-enter your New PIN and click on Correct.
  8. Step 8: A Message is Displayed “Your PIN has been changed successfully”.
What should I do if my Debit Card is not working?
You can call our Customer Care (1800-123-9878) 24×7 (Except National Holidays) or visit your nearest branch to register the complaint.
How can I block my Card?
Please call our Customer Care (1800-123-9878) 24×7 (Except National Holidays). or visit your nearest branch to register the complaint. Alternatively, you can block your Debit Card through the following channels:

I have entered wrong PIN many times and my Card is blocked? What should I do now?
For security reasons, your Debit Card will be blocked if there are 3 successive wrong PIN attempts at the ATM. However, the Card will be activated automatically after 24 Hrs.
What should I do if I lose my Card?
You should immediately block your Debit Card through any of the following channels:

What is the time frame to reverse the amount of failed Domestic and International ATM transaction?
Banks are required to affect the Pro-active reversal of failed transaction within T+5 working days suo-moto (i.e. without waiting for customers to lodge complaints), wherein ‘T’ refers to date of transaction.

  1. Always keep your Password secret! Never write your Password on your Card or store it with your Card. Memorize your Password.
  2. Review your account statements frequently, for fraudulent transactions.

  4. At point of sale locations, or stores, ask that your Debit Card transactions be processed as credittransactions. These transactions require your signature vs. your PIN. The less you use your PIN in public less the chance someone will obtain it.

    How do I use my Utkarsh Bank Mastercard Gold Contactless Debit Card for Contactless payments?
    1. Look out for Wi-Fi symbol on the machine at the shop/store/outlet
    2. Tap the Card on the machine or keep it close to the terminal (for transactions upto 5000/-)
    3. You will hear a beep/see a green light and get the receipt for the contactless payment you have done
    What if the amount is more than 5000/-? Will I be able to use my Mastercard Gold Contactless Debit Card?
    Yes, you will be able to use your Mastercard Gold Contactless Debit Card, however, if the amount is above 5000/- then you will have to use it like a regular Debit Card by either dipping (or swiping) it in the machine and you will be prompt to enter the PIN.
    Will I get receipt for all the Contactless transactions?
    Please let the shopkeeper know that you need a receipt. However, the receipt is not directly available in some circumstances; for example, while paying for travel by tapping your Card on an electronic ticket reader, or using a Contactless Card at a vending machine. And all contactless purchases are recorded on your statement and you will get to see them on your Utkarsh Bank internet banking account and Utkarsh Bank mobile app as well.
    How far from the Contactless machine should I hold the Card?
    Contactless Cards and machines do not work beyond a distance of 4 cm. We would suggest that you remove the Card from your wallet/purse/clutch and keep it on the machine.
    Can I accidentally be charged for a Contactless transaction just by walking past a Contactless terminal?
    No, Your Card has to be tapped within 4 cm of the Card reader for more than half a second and the retailer must have first entered the amount for you to approve. Terminals can only process one payment transaction at a time, thereby reducing transaction errors.
    What if the Contactless functionality does not work?
    There may be a small chance that the contactless functionality does not work straight away on your new card. Your card needs to be activated before the contactless functionality will work. If you use your card first on a transaction by inserting your Card into a machine then putting a PIN, then contactless should work after this transaction.
    Do I get lost Card liability if I lose my Utkarsh Bank Contactless Card?

    1. Step 1: Login to Utkarsh Bank website www.utkarsh.bank
    2. Step 2: Click on Ways to Bank
    3. Step 3: Select Internet Banking
    4. Step 4: Login to Utkarsh Internet Banking with User Id and password
    5. Step 5: Click on Cards Tab
    6. Step 6: Select Generate Debit Card PIN
    7. Step 7: Select Card Number
    8. Step 8: Enter New PIN
    9. Step 9: Confirm New PIN
    10. Step 8: Enter OTP sent on your registered Mobile Number
    11. Step 9: A confirmation receipt appears on your Screen for successful generation of Debit Card PIN.

    Mobile Banking:

    1. Step 1: Login to Utkarsh Mobile App either through mPIN or User Id & Password provided by the Bank.
    2. Step 2: Click on Cards Section
    3. Step 3: Select Generate Debit Card PIN
    4. Step 4: Select Card Number

    1. Step 1: Insert your Card
    2. Step 2: Select Language
    3. Step 3: Select Set New PIN
    4. Step 4: Enter DOB in YYYYMMDD format and click on Correct.
    5. Step 5: Select Generate OTP.
    6. Step 6: Enter your OTP and click on Validate OTP.
    7. Step 7: Enter your New PIN Step
    8. step 8: Re-Enter your New PIN and click on Confirm.
    9. Step 9: A Message is Displayed “Your ATM PIN Has Been Generated Successfully”.

    Process to Generate Green PIN through Micro ATM:

    1. Step 1: Select Utkarsh Bank Icon
    2. Step 2: Select Card Icon
    3. Step 3: Insert your Debit Card when screen displays “Insert card and wait...”
    4. Step 4: Select Green PIN Icon
    5. Step 5: Select Date of Birth from the calendar displayed on the screen and Click on OK
    6. Step 6: Click on Generate OTP Step
    7. Step 7: Enter OTP (6 digits) sent on the Customer’s registered Mobile no. and then click on Validate OTP.
    8. Step 8: Enter 4 digits New PIN and click on Confirm
    9. Step 9: Re-Enter customer 4 digits New PIN and click on Confirm
    10. Step 10: A Confirmation message is displayed “Your PIN has been generated successfully”.
    I had ordered a new Debit Card through customer care/Branch, there was no PIN that was sent with the Card? How do I start using my Debit Card?
    You can use your Card after receiving 4 digit code PIN which will be delivered to you separately at your registered address.
    I came across a transaction in my account using a Debit Card which was not attempted by me? How do I report this transaction?
    You should immediately call our Customer Care (1800-123-9878) 24×7 (Except National Holidays) to place your request or visit your nearest branch to register the complaint.
    How can I check the status of my new Debit Card which I have applied for?
    You can check the status of your Debit Card through any of the below mentioned channels:

    Call our Customer Care (1800-123-9878) 24×7 (Except National Holidays) (where you can Hotlist your Card immediately and simultaneously request for re-issuance of a new Card. You may also submit a written instruction at the nearest branch to hotlist and re-issuance of Debit Card. Replacement/Reissuance Charges for Debit Cards will be applicable.
    What if I have forgotten my Debit Card PIN or entered an incorrect PIN?
    You will be given 3 attempts to enter the correct PIN, post which your Card will be blocked.
    What if my Utkarsh Bank Debit Card is stolen?
    Loss of Card must be reported immediately to the bank or call our Customer Care (1800-123-9878) 24×7 (Except National Holidays) or visit your nearest branch to register the complaint.
    Can I change my Debit Card PIN if I forget it?
    Yes, you can change your PIN anytime you wish to. You can change it through any of our Utkarsh Bank ATMs or Internet Banking or Mobile Banking.
    My Card has been blocked due to 3 successive incorrect PINs. What should I do?
    Your Card will be unblocked automatically after 24 hours.You can now use your Card with correct PIN
    Is there any charge for transaction from our Banks ATM?
    No, there are no charges for transactions through our ATMs.
    What are the charges for using the Utkarsh Bank Debit Card at other bank ATMs?
    Charges applicable on other bank’s ATM transactions beyond threshold limit of 5 free successful transactions per month (Financial+Non-Financial) is ? 21+Applicable Taxes.
    Will I get SMS alerts for every transaction?
    Bank may send SMS alerts for all financial transactions.
    Will I be able to use Utkarsh Contactles Debit Card for International transactions?
    Yes,the Utkarsh Contactless Debit Card can be used for International transactions.
    Why is the customer required to fill a Cardholder Dispute Form (CDF) to report transaction dispute?
    A duly filled in Cardholder Dispute Form (CDF) mentioning all the required details of the disputed transaction(s) and the exact nature of dispute, aids the Cardholder as well as the Bank to initiate accurate investigation with the respective Merchant / Member Bank.
    What is the time frame to reverse the amount of failed Domestic and International ATM transaction?
    Banks are required to affect the Pro-active reversal of failed transaction within T+5 working days suo-moto (i.e. without waiting for customers to lodge complaints), wherein ‘T’ refers to date of transaction.
    How do I report such service/merchant related transaction dispute incurred using my Debit Card transaction?
    It is recommended that for all service related disputes, the Debit Cardholder must first attempt to contact the merchant to resolve the dispute which enables prompt resolution. Considering all attempts have been made to resolve dispute with the merchant, you may call our Customer Care team for raising exact nature of dispute and send relevant supporting document with respect to failed / disputed transactions with complete transaction(s) details to [email protected] or submit the same at your nearest Utkarsh Bank branch.

    Do’s

    1. Always keep your Password secret! Never write your Password on your Card or store it with your Card. Memorize your Password.
    2. Review your account statements frequently, for fraudulent transactions.
    3. Report lost or stolen Debit Cards immediately. To report your Card as lost or stolen please call, (1800-123-9878) 24×7 (Except National Holidays)
    4. At point of sale locations, or stores, ask that your Debit Card transactions be processed as credittransactions. These transactions require your signature vs. your PIN. The less you use your PIN in public less the chance someone will obtain it.
    5. Take all receipts from ATMs. Keep them for verification against your monthly statement.
    6. Block the view of keypads when using ATMs.
    7. Keep your Cards in a safe place.
    8. Cancel all inactive Debit Cards.
    9. Look for fraudulent devices attached to ATMs or gas pump Card readers. If the machine appears to have any attachments or alterations do not use it and report the problem to the appropriate financial institution or vendor.

    Don’ts

    1. Do not give any Debit Card information over the phone or Internet.This includes your 16-digit Card number and your PIN. No one needs to know your PIN, not even your financial institution.
    2. Do not allow anyone else to use your Card or enter your PIN for you.
    3. Do not use poorly lit ATM locations.
